Arizer Portable Hitting Harsh or Scorching Herbs?
If your Arizer portable vaporizer is hitting harsh or scorching your herbs, don’t worry! Here’s a guide to help you adjust your settings and technique for a smoother, enjoyable experience.
1. Heating Too Hot
Sometimes, harsh hits come from using temperatures that are too high. Arizer portables have powerful heating, which can cook and extract your herbs faster. If you’re getting harsh vapor or noticing that your herbs look blackened, it’s time to try reducing the temperature.
Try Lower Temperatures: For a smooth, mild vapor, try using temperatures in the range of 160°C - 175°C (320°F - 347°F). For stronger, thicker vapor, aim for 175°C - 190°C (347°F - 374°F).
Remember: Lower temperatures will produce lighter vapor, while higher temperatures make thicker vapor, but there’s usually no need to go above 190°C (374°F) for full extraction.
2. Watch for Residue or Build-up
Sometimes, harsh vapor or burning smells come from residue in the oven. Over time, tiny particles and oils can build up and start to burn, affecting the taste and smoothness of your vapor. Regularly cleaning your Arizer will help prevent this.
3. Avoid Black Charring
Black charring is a sign that your herbs may be packed too tightly, causing them to overheat. Proper packing helps your vaporizer heat evenly, so your herbs don’t get scorched. Here’s how to do it:
Lightly Pack the Herbs: Avoid overpacking the oven. Lightly tamp down your herbs so there’s a 1-2mm gap between the glass edge and the herbs.
Leave Room for Airflow: This gap allows air to flow through and helps keep the herbs from burning.
